Who Do We Worship?

Revelation 4:11

Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive the glory and the honor and dominion, for You created all things; by Your will they were [brought into being] and were created.

who do we worship

Revelation chapter four opens with a scene of the four living creatures and twenty four elders worshiping the Father. Number 4 represents all creation. 24 represents priesthood. We have been made a kingdom of priests. How are they worshiping the Father? All creation offers glory, honor, and thanksgiving to Him. The elders fall prostrate before Him.

The next chapter focuses more on worship of the lamb that was slain and is now worthy to take the scroll. This is worship of our Lord Jesus Christ. After his resurrection, the disciples too worshipped him in Galilee on a mountain where He had appointed them. All things prostrate themselves before the lamb. This is seen as myriads of myriads of angels too join in praising before Him.

Lastly, from Moses’ law, the first commandment was to love our God Lord alone. We are to worship Him alone. He consists of three persons i.e the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. If Holy Spirit is God, then all our worship of God is also worship of Holy Spirit. How do we worship Him then? This we do everyday! We saw today that they worshipped by offering glory, honor, and thanksgiving. Whenever you did this, you were worshiping the Holy Spirit. We worship the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Yes we do! Glory to God!
